Lisa Williams-Fauntroy serves as a collaborative and strategic partner to the development, production, programming and operations teams for the global media company Discovery Communications. In this role, she manages business and legal affairs matters and oversees a bi-coastal team responsible for all of the production and talent deals for the Discovery Channel and Science Channel cable television networks. Her work includes handling complex deal negotiations and transactions, as well as providing legal advice to her clients on content liability matters such as defamation, publicity, privacy and copyright issues.

Since joining Discovery in 1997, Williams-Fauntroy has worked for nearly every network in Discovery Communications’ portfolio. She began her career there as a junior attorney in the legal department and has had the opportunity to work on the launch of new networks as well as many corporate joint ventures.

After receiving a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and prior to joining Discovery, she was an associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm formerly known as Roberts & Eckard (now Davis Wright Tremaine). Williams-Fauntroy is also an active member of a number of industry and community organizations.
